Special Education
At Bridging Barrier Child Development Centre, we prioritize innovative therapies that cater to the unique needs of every child. special education require modifications of usual school practices. A child has special educational needs if they have challenges in learning or any disability that make it more difficult for them to learn than most children of their age. They may have problems with schoolwork, communication or behaviour. Parents can get help and advice from specialists, teachers and voluntary organisations.
How Special Education Works
Special education often includes adaptations to the classroom environment, curriculum, or teaching methods. May involve using assistive technology, providing extra time for tasks, or simplifying instructions, while modifications may include adjusting the curriculum to focus on essential skills. Special education can take place in various environments, from fully inclusive classrooms to specialized resource rooms, depending on the student’s needs and the school’s resources.
How Special Education Helps
Special education tailors learning plans to each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals through Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). These plans outline specific goals and accommodations, ensuring that the education a student receives directly aligns with their needs. The most important mission of special education is to provide students with special needs with development opportunities and a learning process that will improve the quality of their life.
Who Can Benefit from Special Education
Special education supports students with intellectual disabilities by modifying the curriculum to focus on functional skills such as life skills, communication skills, self-care, and social skills. Students with physical disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, or other mobility impairments, may need assistive devices, physical accommodations, and specialized instructional strategies to participate in class and access the curriculum effectively. While not always qualifying for special education, students with ADHD may need additional support, such as modifications to assignments, extra time, and behavioral management techniques. The Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)are designed to help these students reach their full potential in school and prepare them for adulthood.
Bridging Barrier provides multidisciplinary services under one roof to enhance and address abilities of differently abled children.
